The Chartered Institute of Language and Translation (CILTRA) is a recognized Professional Institution committed to excellence in translation, credential evaluation, and translator training and certification. Legal Status & Accreditation
Chartered Institute of Language and Translation (CILTRA) maintains full legal recognition and international credibility, operating under established governmental registrations and professional mandates across West Africa. To date, CILTRA has delivered more than 700 Sworn and Certified Translations, as well as official Credential Evaluations of degrees, certificates, and academic transcripts. Our work has achieved a 100% acceptance rate across government institutions, embassies, ministries of education, universities, and courts throughout West Africa and around the world.
Government Approvals
- Togo – CILTRA is formally registered with the Government of Togo as a Chartered Institute, granting us full recognition as a professional regulatory body in translation, credential evaluation, and translator training and certification. Through the Ministry of Justice, we are officially vested with the mandate to provide Sworn Translation services in accordance with the ECOWAS legal framework. This governmental authorization reflects our unwavering commitment to precision, legal compliance, and the highest standards of professional excellence in all sworn and official translations.
- Nigeria – CILTRA is also duly incorporated with the Federal Government of Nigeria as CILTRA LIMITED, operating under full corporate recognition and regulatory compliance. We hold an official Corporate License from the Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters (NITI), further affirming our legitimacy and adherence to national professional standards in translation and credential evaluation.
CILTRA maintains a 100% approval rate for its services across Nigeria, including:
the Federal Ministry of Education for credential evaluation and authentication,
embassies and consular missions,
courts and judicial bodies,
universities and higher-education institutions, and
other government and private-sector entities that require certified and sworn translations.

Translator Certification
CILTRA’s Translator Certifications (CPT Certified Professional Translator) are officially approved by the Ministry of Justice of Togo for licensing as Traducteur Assermenté (Sworn Translator). This recognized professional license operates within the ECOWAS framework, granting certified translators the credibility and authority to practice across West Africa and worldwide with full legal validity.
